Starting to explore Hongkong

Since we took budget airline, we havent had our lunch after settling down at hotel. Decided on exploring near our hotel area and settle down for a quick, simple lunch. Found a food centre down the road which is similar to our hawker center here in singapore. Its a 3-4 storey high building where the first 2 levels are market and the top level sells cooked food. Settle down at this stall, that sells yummy noodles. Took every1 quite sometime to order as most of us couldnt converse well in cantonese. lol .. But the stall uncle was super friendly and nice. Knowing that we're foreigners, he even offered his hp no. for us to call if we got lost in hk. This is the friendly uncle, trying to describe the way to train station on the map: Some ordered Wanton mee and some ordered beef noodle. I personally like the beef noodle a lot. The beef is nicely braised! Take a look at my yummy bowl of beef noodle: And the Wanton Mee, which looks good also: Cheeesssee!! After lunch, as its still early to proceed to the peak, we toured around Central (Zhong Wan) first. What first attracted me was this LV building diagonally across the street: After shopping around at the shops there, due to limited time, we decided to just drop by Lan Kwai Fong, which is just up the slope, to take a look. Well, I've been there loads of time liao, so the excited-ness is not as much as the others who seen the place for the first time in real life and not in HK drama.
The slope that we usually see in HK drama: A must-take-photo-with road sign: Angeline, Michelle, Rene and Me: We had a sudden craving for ice=cream .. haha .. craving for ice-cream during winter .. haha .. wat a crave .. We decided to share 3 scoops of Haagen-Dazs. They had this new flavor, Cappuccino Caramel Truffle. Its super yummy!!! The coffee taste is so intense! After coming back to singapore, I don't see the new flavor here .. so sad .. Me and Rene choosing the flavors: Gathered at 5.30pm, we started to make our to the tram station to take the tram up the peak. Its actually quite a long walk, having to cross overhead bridge, climb fleets of stairs and cross some roads before we finally saw the tram ticket queue which was sooooo long!
Some photos along the way: The queue was so long that I think it took us about 1/2 hr before reaching the ticket booth. We bought only the single trip ticket, and will take cab directly from the peak to our dinner place at Ming Xing Restaurant for steamboat, recommended by Frances. Single trip ticket at HKD37 each: While queuing to board the train .. We can see the "kiasu" spirit ... haha .. so its not restricted to Singaporeans wor .. I shant name the others to prevent any troubles. Christmas decoration up the peak: Some photos up the peak, its sorta quite windy up there at some areas, but it wasnt as cold as I thought. It was really cold up there the last time i went with yuzhen, 2 years ago. This time round was fine, i manage to feel fine, with just a jacket. And this is a habit I started to have since I went USA. Taking Hard Rock Cafe bear to snap photo with w/o buying it .. lol .. Its dinner time!! We were all so hungry and tired then. seperated into 3 cabs, we proceeded to the steamboat restaurant recommended by Maria (opps ... i said maria again .. hehe ... paiseh ah, too used to it liao) .. well anyway, its a buffet steamboat and we managed to have a table to seat 14 of us, without waiting. After dinner, its basically end of day 1 le. Everyone was too tired after such a long day, time to proceed back hotel to rest.
