Birthday 2009

First time that I'm celebrating birthday out of Singapore. Thanks to so many people, that I had such a great day this year. Received the great news couple of weeks before that Crystal is arriving on this day, few days later, learned that Serene's flight is scheduled to reach SF on the same day also. So QIAO!! So happy! ^_^ Didnt make the decision fast enough, and the car rental price soared so high. Lucky winston made the reservation for every weekend. Thanks to him, for driving me to the airport to pick Crystal up, and then to Wharf Holiday Inn to pick serene up.
Head home 1st for crystal to put down her luggage while serene get excited over my gigantic me-to-you bear while I had a mini present unwrapping session. Surprises from my panda. =D A sony mp3 player, ear-rings, cute panda hp accessories, home-baked biscotti and a super pretty handmade card. That moment, really hope panda was by my side, will give him a big hug! Next is a nice gift from my jiemei, Frances. Cute teddy bear wrapping .. wif a nice panda top and a cute teddy bear keychain watch. Lastly is a sweet card and little accessory from Serene. While excitement was all over, we left house for Sausalito. Its my first time there too. A nice little small town my the coast. Met up with Wenshun, Chwis, Mabel and Shuyi there before settling down for some ice-cream. Yummy pecan ice-cream shared between the 3 of us. We walked down the coast to take some photos Us and Winston aka mr ahmad.. haa yeah .. this is the day he got this ahmad title, from jo. lol.. Its bout dinner time where we head to Houston opp Pier 33. They serve really good steak! Pricey, but so far best I've eaten. Turn out to be a super big group, we had to split into 2 big tables. Thanks everyone for turning up. We're all so full from the huge portion. They ordered a brownie with ice-cream as cake for me to blow candle. Super right choice, cos every1 jus need to take a small mouth to finish it. Its really yummy though! Thanks wenshun for drawing such a nice card, and thanks for the nice fisheye camera (i know you 2 know i've been aiming it since some time back. =D ) Lastly, received this snailmail birthday card from Hweeying. Thou it arrived a bit late, I'm so surprised and happy. Snailmail is almost extinct in the current era, but its really sweet. =)

Pre-Birthday 2009

While at work on thursday, I received this note on the email: My first thought was that its a spam and I ignored it.. lol .. cos recently my department group email been receiving spams. Really got stun when I got back home, when i open my door, my usually stuff-toy filled bed, all the stuff toys are gone!! Only my pillow, blanket and laptop was left there... They left some clues for me in my camera lying on the floor. So solving the clues means I found all my small stuff toys.. Where's the big ones? Min Min? Pig Pig? Me-to-you bear bear? I haunted everyone that night.. lol..asking for my min min which I hug to slp every night. Obviously, every1 acted blur. So that night.. I had to sleep without min min.
Got another surprise when I get to work. Before I reached my table, I saw my colleagues smiling at me. My stuff toys!! All kidnapped to my desk .. wahahaha... They wrapped my phone and monitors etc too .. haa.. but clever winston.. didnt want to wrap too much cos he knew I gotta work on his show that morning, wrapping too tight means I cant get to work .. lol .. good for him, lucky for me.. True enough .. I really gotta get to work on his show even before I can settle my bear somewhere. Its so big that it took out my whole chair, so i had to stand and work. lucky my work desk is those can adjust height easily de. End of day, since they kidnap my toys here.. they're suppose to help me bring back.. lol.. lucky jerry got car.. Got these photos from Kel, where he took photos while bringing them to my desk

LA with panda

Awesome relaxing trip. We didnt spend lotsa time rushing around. Just going around in a relax pace to the places that we missed a lot. To the places that we missed out enjoying together 2 yrs ago. Was really a long drive, panda managed to tahan all the way. By the time we arrived at our hotel, it was pretty late at nite. Had a little commotion while checking in to the hotel (Kyoto Grand) cos the room they gave us initially was bit eerie, and the aircon produce really loud sound. Lucky they agreed to swap us into another room. By the time we're really settled down, we were soooo hungry. Lucky its wkend, and that our hotel is just walking distant from Daikokuya Ramen. There's a small crowd there, we waited for quite awhile before getting a table. The Ramen was heavenly, because its really good, we're really hungry and the hot yummy soup really warm us up from the super cold weather outside. After dinner, we tried our luck at the japan village, and found the mochi shop stil around, and its open!! Ordered our favourite flavours, red bean and mango... mmmm ... still as good!! ^_^ We went back to Korean tofu house for dinner the following day after disneyland (we arrange it that way cos we know we'll be in disney til late, and tofu house open 24hrs =D). Because of a full tiring day at disneyland, we woke up late the following morning. Went to westwood, had our lunch at mr noodle (thai food). Shared the green curry and pad thai. So full!! that we cant get the cookie and ice-cream sandwich for dessert. Head to UCLA after lunch, lucky to find the carpark gantry open, so we do not need to pay for parking (not sure why.. mayb cos its holiday?) ahh .. memories memories .. really miss this place!! took lotsa photos around til sun set. Still feeling full fr lunch, we proceed to Beverly Hill for a walk first. manage to find Edelwise chocolate shop and bought some chocs to try before it close at 6pm (we reach there around 550pm). Parking is free after 6pm, so we took our time to stroll around the area, and went to buy some products at Lush. Dinner was at our another favourite place. Vietnamese food!! its a little drive (around 20+mins), and lucky us, there's no queue. =) food still taste as good! yay!! no disappointment!! =D Why we don't have it in singapore!!?? Cant rem what we did after Viet full, but rem we head back to hotel later, bathed and rest a bit. And thought since we're leaving LA the next day, its our last chance to grab the ramen again. LOL.. so we head down to the shop to get a bowl to share. Last day in LA, finally the shabu shabu shop is open (they had a break til our last day in LA .. phew!) We reach there before its open, and the list was already almost half a page -_- so we didnt make it to the 1st round. So while waiting, we went to walk around, thats where we saw min min! =D so cute! Panda say wanna buy for me, but i keep saying dun wan, save $$! so i pulled him out of the shop. Finally our turn in shabu.. yummy yummy yummy!! ahh ... why again we cant find as gd ones in singapore!? saw a lot of people drinking their coffee, so we bought a cup to share. In the end, panda insisted to buy min min for me .. heez.. luckily he bought it, cos min min became my bolster for the rest of the year. ^_^

Vegas with Panda

Finally the day to set off for our road trip. Though we're going to places we've been before, but we're still super looking forward to it, cos we're now going as diff status, we're now each other's dearie, unlike the last time.. so unhappy with each other.. LOL.. So glad we've got this chance to mend back the lost time, and fill our memories of these places with happy ones. As usual, we overslept. heez.. by the time we collected the car, its almost lunch time, so we decided to have lunch b4 setting off. ate at OBW, yummy buffalo wings! and then.. off we go!! to LAS VEGAS!! And after a super loooooooonnngg drive, we finally arrive at Bellagio. We booked the room for a nite, christmas eve nite. =) I got a christmas surprise from panda. He already gave me xmas gift, so din expect he actually prepared more stuff. He wants me to stay in the toilet for awhile, and when i came out .. i saw this My favourite ME-TO-YOU bear!! Panda had placed them nicely at the tv shelf, waiting for me. ^_^ and a sweet sweet xmas card. On Christmas day, we checked out of Bellagio (its too expensive, over budget!), and moved in to Excalibur. After settling down, we proceed to MacDonalds for lunch. Panda ate a burger while i had my favourite, McNuggets and we shared a pack of fries. As we're so tired from the previous day's road trip, we went back to the room to nua and rest a bit before setting off to the main strip for a stroll and photo-taking And we went to the M&M shop.. Some photos along the street before going back to hotel. Its sooooo cold that nite. My hands were freezing when i took out my gloves to handle the camera.. We start off our next day with starbucks coffee at Excalibur.. Love this photo that we took outside Hard Rock Cafe. We took this in the middle of the driveway.. risked my camera on the mini-tripod which I put it on the tar road. And its super windy.. lucky my camera withstand the strong wind.. nice photo!! ^_^ And we wanted to try out the famous Buffet at Bellagio. When we reached there and saw the queue.. we're super stun. Super long long zig-zag queue. >.< Yummy yummy food! hungry us finally get to eat! ROAR!! tuck in!! My favourite dessert is Creme Brulee. Super nice!! best of all at bellagio. While eating.. we took lotsa photos.. After the yummy buffet, we're super full. Time to walk around and take photos.. since we're at bellagio, of cos we start from the interior there.. The world largest chocolate fountain.. their stuff looks so yummy! but we're too full to fit any of them le.. LOL.. diong diong! :-p And the christmas decoration in bellagio is so pretty! but it's so crowded.. really so hard to take photos.. but lucky got some kind souls, when see we're taking photos, will siam awhile.. else our photos may hav lotsa passerby at the background. And we get to see the bellagio fountain which we missed the last time while in vegas. Its so beautiful! Love it! Haa.. and i used the multishot function.. was so cold that night, but its so fun n loving!! After Bellagio.. its more photo taking down the road before we head back to the car which we parked at Venettian ... Cesar Palace The Mirage The venettian.. when we reached here, we were actually super tired!
